Future Prospects Skating and Skills Camps
On Ice Program Objective:
This camp is focused on Specialized Skating for Power and Speed. We will focus on Stance, Body Positioning, Stride Extension, Edge Control, Tight Turns, Cross Overs, Cross Unders, Pivots, Stops and Starts.
We will also focus on Individual Skill Development, such as; Scoring Secrets, Stick Handling Drills, Deking, Making/Receiving Passes, Wrist, Back Hand, Slap/Snap Shots, and Break aways.
Off Ice Program Objective:
Our off ice program was specifically developed, for strengthening hockey players. Our challenging off ice drills will include heavy resistance training developing super explosive starts, while our light resistance training increases acceleration speed.
Off ice sessions will also focus on agility and balance. Our program utilizes modern speed and strength training equipment such as:
Multi Sport Chutes, Lightning Bungee Chords, Agility Ladders, Speedster Tow Lines, and Reaction Balls.
TARGET PLAYERS: 7 & 8 yrs, 9 & 10 yrs, 11 & 12 yrs, and 13 & 14 yrs.
DATES: July 28th - August 2nd 2008.
GROUP A - July 28 - July 30th, 2008
GROUP B - July 31st - August 2nd, 2008
LOCATION: CANLAN ICE SPORTS - 1871 Ellice Ave. Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
TRAINING TIME:
- 6 hours of on ice sessions
- 6 hours off sessions
- 2 hours on ice and 2 hours off ice per day
- Total = 12 hours of instructional time
PROGRAM INCLUDES:
- Official Evolution Hockey/Trottier 19 Rebellion Jersey
- Professional Instruction from certified CAHA Instructors, WHL & NHL experienced players, coaches and scouts
- 5 player – 1 instructor ratio
- Video sessions
- Off ice instruction
- Player assessment report on skating & skills
- Scrimage on last day
PRICE: $200.00 per player for each 3 day camp,
or $360.00 per player for both camps (6 days, double on-ice/off-ice time).
$100.00 due a registration, Balance due by July 31st, 2008.
Western Junior Hockey Spring – Summer Prep Camp
On ice Sessions:
Give your self the opportunity to excel and raise your game to that elite level. Get the edge on the other players who you will compete against in the up and coming 2006-2007 season.
The Evolution Hockey Development "Western Junior Hockey Prep Camp", will provide Bantam AAA/AA, Midget AAA/AA, High School, and others, an intense, specific hockey related training/prep program. You will be well prepared for your WHL, MJHL, MMJHL, AAA, or High School training camp.
You will be working out with players (on and off the ice) of your elite level, who will challenge and motivate you, throughout the off season.
Players will have 28 on ice sessions (2 per week) with Program Director Thomas Steen. In addition you will have at least 2-4 sessions with Hockey Development Coordinator Bryan Trottier. Assisting with the program, is our Instructors led by Calgary Flame Dustin Boyd.
On ice sessions will focus on player development, skill building, and conditioning. We will emphasize speed, strength and endurance. The sessions will be split up each week focusing on skill building drills and high tempo game like scrimmages.
We believe that players need to be on the ice a minimum of twice per week to develop skills and progress.
Off Ice sessions:
You will participate in 28, 2 hour sessions per week with Strength and Conditioning Coach Christine Doerksen.
They will fitness test all participants and the beginning and end of the program, showing players their progress. Throughout the program off ice sessions will focus on the following:
- Strength, Aerobic, and Anaerobic Training.
- Speed, Agility, Balance, and quickness.
Our qualified instructors will utilize the latest/modern off ice hockey training equipment, including:
- Resistance Multi Sport Chutes
- Agility ladders
- Bungee/Lightening Chords
- Balance Boards
- Hockey Skills Training Balls
Players will be shown, how to use the fitness equipment safely and properly at the Pan Am Pool. They will be monitored and coached at all sessions. An individual based program will be set for each players needs.
TARGET PLAYERS: Group 1 (14 yrs - 15 yrs), Group 2 (16 yrs - 20 yrs & Pros)

OFF ICE SESSIONS: PAN AM POOL & FITNESS CENTRE – 25 Poseidon Bay Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
TRAINING TIME:
- 42 hours of on ice sessions
- 56 hours of off ice sessions
- Total = 98 hrs of instructional time
- Official EVOLUTION HOCKEY DEVELOPMENT/TROTTIER 19 practice jersey, work out shirt, and shorts.
- Player fitness assessment (at start and end of program)
- 3 month unlimited pass at all City of Winnipeg Park & Recreation Fitness Facilities.
- Opportunity to receive instruction from WHL & NHL experienced players, coaches, and Instructors.
PRE – PROGRAM INFORMATION SESSION:
Scheduled for all registered participants and their families on May 13, 2007 at the Viscount Got Hotel, 1670 Portage Ave. Winnipeg. The evening will include the following:
- Introduction to Evolution Hockey Development program staff
- Program outline and video presentation
- Guest Speakers (NHL Players and Agents) TBA
- Distribution of Evolution athletic gear
- Rebellion Hockey Equipment display.
Price: $1,595.00 per player.
$500.00 due at registration, Balance due by July 31st, 2008.
Payment Plan Accepted.
AA/AAA Prep Camps
The AA/AAA Prep Camp will provide 11, 12, and 13 year old players the opportunity to develop on and off the ice. The program focuses on preparing players for that critical jump into AA as an 11 year old or that jump into AAA as a 13 year old (We also welcome 12 year old players).
Young players will train and prepare (on and off the ice) with players of your elite level, who are looking at moving into AA or AAA hockey.
On ice sessions will focus on leg strength and conditioning. You will gain power, increased foot speed, agility and balance.
This program will provide you the opportunity to get the edge on other players you will be competing against for placement at tryouts.
TARGET PLAYERS: 11 yrs, 12 yrs, 13 yrs attending AA or AAA tryouts.
DATES: August 2nd - September 6th, 2008.
LOCATION: CANLAN ICE SPORTS, 1871 Ellice Ave. Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
TRAINING TIME: (Saturdays)
- On-Ice: 3:00 - 5:00 pm
- Off-Ice: 5:15 - 7:15 pm
- 12 hours of On-Ice Sessions
- 12 hours of Off-Ice Sessions
- 24 hours Training/Preparation Time.
PROGRAM INCLUDES:
- Official Evolution Hockey Trottier 19 & Steen 25 Jersey.
- Professional Instruction from certified Hockey Canada Instructors, WHL & NHL experienced players, coaches, and scouts.
- Motivational lecture upon completion of program.
